Chinese homestay experience in French Concession
My Chinese guy friend Diego would like to host travelers from overseas in his 2-bedroom apartment in the French Concession, which is 5 minutes from my apartment and the ChangShu Rd Station on Subway Line #1. He was originally from Northern China, but has lived in Shanghai for 6 years and works for a home furnishing company. If you're interested in checking out some old Shanghai architecture, authentic Chinese/Shanghainese food, or any cool local hang-outs, Diego is definitely your go-to guy.
The apartment is on the 18th floor in an older residential high-rise with great view of the lane houses around --- not the most luxurious but pretty cozy with wooden floor and high ceiling. The room is furnished with a twin-sized bed, comfy leather sofa, a big working table, and TV. Wifi internet connection is available. The small kitchen and bathroom are shared.
Just outside the apartment is the busy Urumuqi Middle Rd, where there are a row of veggie and fruit stands, as well as local eateries and supermarket. It's also within walking distance to many of the western cafes and shops hidden in renovated old houses.
